Michael Chisholm, a Canadian, reported his second holiday experience to Bali to The Vancouver Sun magazine. He planned to spent his February vacation in a Bali villa in the Seminyak area.

This is good news for the travelers, as JawaPos reported that Indonesian Government will increase flight schedule for 350.000 a year from Singapore to Bali due to many visitor from around the world get difficulties to fly to Bali since the limited seats.

Indonesia Minister of culture and tourism, Mr. Jero Wacik said volume of flight from Singapore to Bali will be increase from four trip into seven trip a day. As Mr. Jero Wacik said, Government decide to increase flight route because many tourist which will travel to Bali, detained in Singapore. Despitefully, there is only limited flight from Singapore to Bali, only by Singapore Airlines and Garuda Indonesia.

Still on series of promote Visit Indonesia Year 2008, 36 artist from Group of Balinese Arts will visit France and Switzerland to promote Balinese art for 3 weeks, as informed by ANTARA NEWS.

During the mission, they will arrange at least 7 dance show in the two countries. Groups visit as invited by John Lux from a French Cultural Foundation. I Nyoman Carita as a group leader said that the group will transit in Malaysia first before they go to France.

Bali, well known as a resort island is expected to organize 17 festivals, 14 of the festival are already approved by the minister of Arts and Tourism, according to the local media on Sunday. That festival will be held to celebrate the “Visit Indonesia Year 2008″. Ir Tjokorda Artha Ardhana Sukawati the Bali Chapter of Indonesia Hotels & restaurant Association, said that festivals were expected to attarct tourist to visit Bali.

“The promotion for the events had also been made”, Oka added that his side had set the traget of drawing 1.9 million foreign tourist from the events in 2008. Those target set based on the arrival of 1,664,047 foreign tourist in 2007. Last year about 5.5 million visited Indonesia, which was below the target of 6 million. The government expected to have 7 million foreign visitors in 2008.
